Tipping is a matter of individual preference. A general rule of thumb is to plan for about $3.00 to $3.50 per person per day for your cabin steward and dining room waiter, and about half that amount for your busboy.  Other shipboard personnel can be tipped for special services at your discretion.  A number of cruise lines automatically add a tip amount to your onboard account. This charge is generally about $11.00 to $13.00 per person, per day.  If you wish to remove or change this charge, see the ship's purser.
